7 Secret Tips to Perfect Skin

Hi everyone ,
I’ve been getting a lot of compliments for my skin. Just a few days before, one of my friend said that she couldn’t stop staring at my skin. I started blushing immediately. Getting flawless skin is easy, you just need to get a few things right. I’ll list out those things for you.

1. Stay away from candy:

That daily candy habit isn’t just damaging your waistline; it could be aging your face. Foods with a high glycemic index (think sugary sweets and white carbs) create an increase in cortisol through a process called “glycosylation,” where sugars bind to collagen and weaken it. Create beautiful skin from the inside out by making sure your diet includes healthy fats (like olive oil), omega 3s (found in walnuts and salmon), antioxidants (greens), and vitamin C (berries and citrus fruits). The past few months I’ve been trying to change my lifestyle by eating healthy. The only oil I’ve been eating is olive oil and I’ve been taking omega 3 supplements. The little things create a difference.

2. Stop smoking:

Smoking isn’t only unhealthy in many ways but can damage your skin. The nicotine in those little killers can bind to your collagen and cause ageing, appearance of fine lines. Usually women who smoke appear older than non-smokers.

3. Sweat it out:

If you want a fresh-faced glow all the time, you’ll need to log a few hours a week getting sweaty. Aim for a minimum of 30 minutes of activity at least five days a week. Working out and getting your heart rate up once in a day, has proven to be a good solution for a lot of problems. They act as stress busters, help you keep in shape, fight various diseases. We hardly have any option, other than to run for a few minutes in a day or do any other form of exercise.

4. Fresh seasonal fruits and greens:

Eat those peas, spinach leaves and other green leafy veggies for healthy skin. Also, incorporate a lot of fresh fruits in your diet. Not only it will give you healthy glowy skin but also improve your overall health and diet.

5. Drink those fluids:

Drink around 8-10 glasses of water. Don’t skip out on this. Having enough water in your system can make or break your skin and your entire health. Also, include a few juices. But be mindful of those juices, as they contain a lot of sugar. To drink more water, set a reminder on your phone or one of those healthy apps. For Indian diets, HealthifyMe is one of the perfect apps. It contains all the Indian food habits and also has a water reminder.

6. Moisturise to hydrate:
Maintaining the moisture content of the skin is important, especially at night times. Moisturizers slow down water loss, through the superficial layers of the skin and strengthen your skin barrier. If you have sensitive skin, look for products with “ceramides,” one of the three types of lipids or fats in the skin. When the air is dry in the winter, people with flawless skin know to ramp up their moisturizer on their entire bodies. Then, when the air is more humid in warmer months, they can ease up. Figure out your skin type and use an appropriate product. If the product does not suit your skin, change it. If your skin is oily, don’t skip out on the moisturising cream, use one made for oily skin.

7. Beauty sleep:

The weird thing about sleep is, it determines how you look, behave the next day. Skipping out on sleep is never the answer. Sleep well for at least 7-8 hours to wake up looking fresh and to avoid using a lot of product. Sleeping well can leave you with glowing and fresh skin. It will avoid dark circles and keep your energy level high.
